I went to the hardware store to get some more ties and clips to mount the cam a little better.
For some context, this is where it landed & this is what the owl box looks like during the day.
Last night, I left on “continuous” mode instead of motion detection. I’m glad I did!
Early dusk, we get some action:
Night falls - how many owls do you see? (yes, I’ve been reading a lot of toddler books)
I think these are two babies learning how to fly - they don’t seem to go far, look smaller than the (mama? I don’t know if she identifies as such). They don’t seem to go far, just practicing flapping and pacing, going in and out of the owl box. They also don’t see that graceful!
How many eyes?
Morning comes quickly. I’m glad I have the daytime to come up with the next night’s plans. Any suggestions or requests for the next night or posting? Thanks for being here.
i love it! are the owlets fully in flight now? i read that often when they fledge, people mistake them as having fallen from the nest, but the parents are nearby watching. it's so exciting to see these photos!
fantastic photos! Lots going on in the nighttime. I wonder if the owls know there’s a camera. Does it emit and light or sound?
